Umm Kulthum in Morocco, March 1968
Umm Kulthum visited Morocco in July of 1968, at the invitation of S.M. Hassan II. She sang on four different occasions:
Monday, March 4, 1968: Theatre Mohamed V in Rabat: "Amal Hayati" followed by "Al Atlal"
Friday, March 8, 1968: Theatre Mohamed V in Rabat: "Fat al Maad" followed by "Al Atlal"
Tuesday March 12, 1968: Theatre Mohamed V in Rabat: "Robâ'iyât al Khayyam" followed by "Howwa Sahih El-Hawa Ghallab"
Saturday March 16, 1968: Hotel-Casino Sadi in Marrakesh (private function): a religious song (with a Moroccan Choral group) called "Ya Rasoul Allah," secondly "Anta Omri" then followed lastly by "Fakarouni."
It is the song which Umm Kulthum sang in Rabat on March 12, 1968 - "Howwa Sahih El-Hawa Ghallab" - that is mentioned so very much as a video on the internet, usually entitled "Umm Kulthum improvising in Rabat" which may also be viewed here.
