Umm Kulthum - Star of the East
About the Friends of Umm Kulthum

This web site was conceived to be a comprehensive collection of information on the life and work of Umm Kulthum in the English language, solely for educational purposes. This is but a small effort, on my part, to honour the memory of the late Umm Kulthum and also to promote her life and works to a new generation of people who have discovered her music, or may discover her music, through reading this web site.

This site has no donation request links, no commercial links, no click-through or amazon commission links and accepts no advertising of any kind from any source. The cost of domain name and time and energy spent to create and maintain this web site is paid for totally out of my own pocket. In this respect, this web site may be truly regarded as a "hobbyist" site.
